Gregg:  Thank you for the day in Chemistry class, when Mr. Clavin left the room.  You came up to me very personably, and said we're looking for something to do.  I'd like to hang you by your feet out the window.  I'll hold on to you."

It took our bond of trust to say "OK".  And there I was upside down on outside of the second floor, facing the grass  at the Grand Avenue lawn.

You said "Thank you, Dan." like it was an honor.

Sometimes I think of the time, that we as a class, sang "Hey Jude" in the Brother Birch's library.  You wailed "na na na na, wow wow", like Paul MacCartney.  You added real depth to the event.

When you see your Aunt Bee Horjes and Grandma Marie Hummert relish in their love.  Ask your Grandma to tell you about swimming across the Mississippi in the old Bohemian Soulard neighborhood.

I am deeply saddened to hear about Gregs passing, I went to grade school and high school with Greg. He was a great guy and alot of fun to be around. He was one of the biggest and strongest  guys in our class. He was a good athlete. I remember playing basketball with Greg in grade school , He was great rebounding but terrible on simple layups. He never developed the art of laying the ball softly off the backbard. It was so funny watching him throw line drives off the backboard on his layups. Sometimes I think he didn't know his own strength. I also remember  in our earlier years in grade school, when he got in trouble in Mr. Mike's class. Mr Mike was famous for giving out spankings with rulers when a student got in trouble. Mr Mike got out two rulers for Greg. He made Greg bend over with Greg grinning and promptly he spanked him with both rulers breaking both rulers on his rear end. The whole class broke out in laughter including Mr. Mike. Greg was known as a real hardass after that. Nothing seemed to phase Greg. He liked to have a good time. i am sorry we lost another Immaculate Heart of Mary/ St Mary,High School classmate. Greg will greatly be missed. Rest in peace my old friend.
